For those lucky enough to have seen a Jesus bird, they will understand the pure joy of watching something so delicate, run and dance along the water, above the lotus leaves. Which is why the artists so frequently asks ‘have you ever seen a jesus bird?’ Bringing together a variation of Tea’s signature styles, elongated limbs, pointy birds, block coloured landscapes and playful tones, this marks the artists departure from digital design to more traditional techniques. The artist has captured the spirited movement of a delicate Jacana bird seen at Corroboree billabong, set amongst the tall lotus leaves, blue skies, clouds and lagoon.

Artist Statement: Zac E Tea has been honing his unique style over the past five years, as a designer creating album artworks, posters and logos for musicians while developing his own personal style. Tea’s work is playful, surreal, minimal and is directly influenced by Australian landscapes and birds. Recently Tea has been transferring his style into more traditional techniques from his digital work. Experimenting with oils and gouache on board and paper.
