I am a local Darwin based artist who works with mixed mediums – photography, textiles, lino printing, acrylics, sketching, drawing and digital media. Through my practice I explore how all these mediums come together and the relationships of moving back and forth between them.
My inspiration stems from the uniqueness of the Northern Territories biodiversity, capturing the textures, flowers, animals, and the essence of what is and what has been. I recently completed my Batchelor of Arts at Charles Darwin University majoring in Creative Arts where I explored repeat block prints and lino prints on textiles.
My recent work is hand printed using lino cuts, permaset and cotton textiles. It depicts the iconic Barramundi of the Northern Territory and is printed with blended hues of the Territories sunsets.

Artist Statement: My name is Kelly Rasmussen, I am a mixed medium artist from Darwin. Completing my Batchelor of Arts at Charles Darwin University in 2023, I majored in Creative Arts and explored different mediums – textiles, photomontage, collage, automatic drawing, risograph printing, lino printing and digital media. Through this time and after, my work has been exhibited at Charles Darwin University, Darwin Visual Arts, the Darwin Festival and the Nightcliff Seabreeze festival. My inspiration of works stems from my love of the biodiversity and capturing the essence of the Northern Territory.
