POSTERITY OF COLOUR, PRIDE, AND IDENTITY

Capturing the inherent mood when a cultural observer is on the ground watching the Aboriginal dancers stomping their feet in the dry ochre. The ‘Posterity of Colour, Pride, and Identity’ is my tribute to the Aboriginal Australians for allowing me to live in their communities for several years as a teacher, an artist, and an observer.
My visual storytelling is to bring forth the mood I experienced while watching the performance. My calibration to covert my pastels into the dry ochre of the natives, and to keep a Territory atmosphere in the composition.

Artist Statement: Studied Bachelor of Fine Arts and a Masters in Cultural Education probably influenced me to keep depicting people and culture and my bodies of work.
Currently I am an art teacher for a state college here in the NT.
