DARWIN BACKYARD
$190
The bush can be a precious place to escape the pressures of our busy lives, with the increased costs of living, crazy work-life balance, and stresses within the family. The local park or home garden can be a sanctuary where we can submerge ourselves in the soulful sounds, the breeze rustling through the branches, the quiet hum of traffic, and the scattered echo of bugs and wildlife within the leaf litter. Creating works that reflect images of the urban landscape is a subject area I have been fascinated with. Using discarded and found objects is essential to my practice; giving new life and purpose to materials is an area I have been exploring. The typical tropical Territory Louvre is iconic on its own, and here, it serves as a canvas to support the shapes and silhouettes of the celebrated Territory backyard.
