In this painting I tried to capture intense bursts of energy that emulate the very beginning of everything. The profound moment of creation as visual representation, a cosmic event where all matter and energy are concentrated and then explosively dispersed.
I used yellows, orange, white and black to create a high contrast effect radiating outward. Through this painting I attempt to create a sensation in the viewer about the mystery of the universe, matter and anti-matter, chaotic but at the same time structured, the origins of our existence.

Artist Statement: A few years ago I attended a short course for adults on painting with acrylics. I very much enjoyed the experience. However, it was only this year that I picked up painting again. My favourite medium is acrylics on canvas. I love working with strong colours and believe expression of emotions, whether inner turmoil or peaceful harmony via a visual medium rather than with words can be very powerful and therapeutic. My art work may resonate with some viewers who may feel attracted by the level of energy or light in my paintings.
