BUBBLES AMONGST THE BOUGAINVILLEAS

This artwork is inspired by the sight of my daughter blowing bubbles in our backyard beneath the bougainvillea tree. I aimed to capture the sense of wonder and enchantment that children experience, using glitter and ethereal watercolours to reflect the delicate nature of the bubbles. Dried bougainvillea petals from our tree have been incorporated to add texture, vibrancy, and a touch of the outdoors to the piece.

Artist Statement: Cassie has called Darwin home for 40 years, sharing it with her husband and their four children. She cherishes memories of her grandparents, who owned a ceramic & art studio. Watching her grandfather use his kiln and learning to paint from her grandmother left a lasting impression on her. Cassie enjoys experimenting with various mediums and textures.
