This picture was painted during a massive personal change that occurred while I was travelling in my caravan with my dogs, during a three year period away from Darwin. It is one of my translations of connecting to the country in the Sunshine Coast Hinterland. The moody cloudscape hints at inner unrest & the fragmented strokes of colour take away the solidity of the ground it represents.

Artist Statement: Brooke Barnett completed her four-year Bachelor of Fine Arts at the ANU in the 90’s and has exhibited in various solo & group shows in Canberra, Melbourne, Sydney & Darwin.
Brooke has facilitated courses for children and adults in various art modalities. She is presently a practicing artist in Darwin NT.
