The enduring sand palm stands stable and resilient amidst the ever-changing environment, whilst the kapok flower rises like the moon.
The lace triptych blends traditional Irish needlelace techniques with natural materials to evoke the savanna’s nocturnal beauty. Each piece of lace, intricately stitched from fine paper thread and hand-dyed with natural indigo and cochineal, captures the subtle hues of a moonlit landscape. Framed with epiphytic banyan roots, the lacework reflects the interconnectedness of all living things and the delicate balance of the natural world

Artist Statement: Angie Soares crafts intimate pieces in quiet conversation with fragments of nature and material through gentle mending and assemblage. Inspired by the small sacred moments of daily life and the inherent beauty around us, her art blends needlework, weaving, natural dyeing, printing, and sculpture into a heartfelt process, inviting care for ourselves, each other, and nature.
